Daniel is an Exercise Physiologist and rehabilitation specialist. He is a Soft Tissue Therapist (Remedial Massage) and is a member of the Association of Massage Therapists, ESSA, Fitness Australia and is the founder of Accelr8 Rehabilitation.
Daniel has a strong interest in people with Chronic or Persistent Pain who have difficulty exercising.
As a trained applied scientist Daniel carries his logical mindset into all aspects of his work, ensuring that his clients get the maximum benefit from their investment and time.
In 2004 Daniel was awarded the ACT Personal Trainer of the Year. Through his individualised and specific rehabilitation programs, he also won the Comcare team award as a part of ACTNOW, for excellence in workers rehabilitation. Daniel enjoys working with a wide variety of clients ranging from those with acute injuries to chronic injuries and those who are morbidly obese to elite athletes.
Daniel will work with anyone who is serious about improving their health and lifestyle and enjoys working with people who are willing to further investigate their injury if previous treatment has failed.Daniel has a direct, scientific, no nonsense approach which differentiates him from other trainers and therapists who do not have the experience he has.
Today Daniel is a service provider for Medicare, DVA, The NDIS, The Canberra Raiders, The Brumbies, VSACT, Carers ACT, Comcare and all insurance companies. He incorporates all of his skills to give an integrated service combining the skills of a corrective exercise specialist, Exercise Physiologist, and soft tissue therapist and provides a positive influence on his clients.
Daniel practices what he preaches; he trains hard in the gym, competes in competitive basketball (25 years), and has tried every sport possible, even underwater hockey!
When he is not exercising Daniel is researching his industry, loving his kid and tickling his wife. Daniel is particularly knowledgeable about the following conditions:
• low back pain, sciatica
• neck pain and headaches
• the “big three” Hip complaints, Pelvic alignment, Groin Injuries
• carpal tunnel syndrome, along with most other common hand and wrist problems
• shoulder dysfunction and thoracic outlet syndrome
• all the common tendinitis conditions, especially plantar fasciitis and tennis elbow
• muscle strain and pain, myofascial pain syndrome, trigger points
He is less well-informed about these problems. He does however have good basic understanding of them, of course, but not true expertise:
- fibromylagia and complex regional pain syndrome
- migraine management
- rehabilitation from serious injury, neurological disease or injury
- shin splints, IT band syndrome, and patellofemoral pain
